Hotel Cretan Park

This beachside hotel comes with a stylish pool and a lazy river. There’s plenty in the way of entertainment, too.

The Cretan Park has a sandy beach on one side and rolling countryside on the other. Its gardens are home to a big pool, and there’s a lazy river, too. Tennis and wine tasting top the daytime list of things to do.

Besides the main buffet restaurant, there are Greek and Italian à la cartes. After dinner, the hotel puts on live shows. Plus, Malia’s 24-hour party scene is just a 20-minute walk away.

An oasis of calm

From the moment we arrived the staff were fantastic. We had bungalow rooms which were very nice if not slightly dated. The small touches made all the difference like wine and fruit in the room. A fridge with water in on arrival. Tea and coffee in rooms. Magazines on benches. The food was okay but not very organised. The bacon would run out before any more was cooked. The seating in the restaurant would have been better if you were allocated a table for the duration of the visit. The drinks are expensive compared to the local tavernas. Stavris Gardens is at the end of the drive of the hotel and is a very cheap and authentic alternative to the expensive hotel prices. Even the hotels animation staff drink there. There are a lot of ants about, outside rooms and even what looked like an ants nest on a pillar at the outdoor restaurant. The rooms we had did not have a sea view but did have a lovely garden. The rooms by the lazy river looked appealing with wooden sun loungers. The beach looked pretty but the sea was full of seaweed and rocks. There are a few Tavernas and supermarkets around. Also a lot of Quads from Malia Town. We ventured in there one day and immediately caught a taxi back out! The best thing about this hotel was that there was no need to rush out and reserve a sunbed. The pool was as warm as a bath too.More

Second Honeymon !!

We stayed in this hotel from 28/06 to 12/07 and it was beautiful time. Hotel is placed in a quiet neighbourhood 15 minutes walking distance from busy Malia seaside, in a beatiful garden. There are 4 pools, the deepest is 2.5 m, the others are up to 1.5 deep. One of them is placed between bungalows and has space for children - shallow on both ends- with deeper middle section. Some bungalows have direct access to this pool, and personally I think that they are the best in the hotel. Rooms are quite normal for this kind of hotel, with big bed and decent bathroom but when you come here you will not kbe sitting in a room! Food is good, with variety of choices from greek and international kitchen. Just outside the hotel there is a place where you can rent a car or quad or motorbike. The beach is sandy but there are rocks in the sea so swimming shoes are obligatory. As I wrote before, it is placed relatively far from the city so if you like some night live you will be disappointed. Additionally the animation program is targeted to families. All in all, we spent here two beautiful weeks and we will be recommending this hotel to all our friendsMore

Bartlomiej S,

What is and what is not included in "All inclusive"

The hotel does not make it clear what is included and what is not included in the "all inclusive" deal. Hotel staff were not forthcoming either deliberately or because they genuinely were not aware, what food and drink was all inclusive in which restaurant or bar. In fact on the beach cafe the all in inclusive sign was hidden from customers on more than one occasion in an effort I believe, to make all inclusive customers pay the full price for the services. After checkout, staff questioned our right to order food and drink, even though we were assured by the reception that we could order up to the time of departure. At other all inclusive hotels they have a wrist band to denote who is all inclusive and who are part board customers, which I believe is a simpler system and leads to less confusion and embarrassment.More

So relaxing!

Large room. Large king size bed. Cleaned daily. Tea and coffee facilities. Beautiful gardens, plants all labelled for keen gardeners. Staff very polite and helpful. Food good. Beach nice and quiet, although a bit too much seaweed for me. We were half board which suited us fine but if you are 'All Inclusive' there are still charges to quite a lot of drinks. The bar staff in the evening were very good; very professional yet still had time to chat and laugh with everyone. If you fancy somewhere different for lunch /dinner then you must go to Taverner Eva which is 5 minutes walk from the hotel. A hidden gem.More

Park on the beach - extra relaxation!

Hotel territory looks like a small park which gives extra value. The hotel itself is nice though the rooms are a bit old. Wifi reception needs an improvement. Food was good: a lot of fruits and vegetables though meat and fish dishes did not surprise. Big selection of traditional Greek cuisine. Hotel is cat friendly and they are aloud to walk around outdoor restaurant area (keep in mind if you have allergy!). To conclude, the extra value was created by 5* service. Especially the front office team which was totally - "Yes, I can!" orientated.More
